TALE OF A MEDICAL STUDENT II

Happy I am not alone. My colleague nailed it when she wrote...
Hmmmm...Medicine where you sweat and go thru pains to enter.
Thinking that's all,you walk thru the valley of the shadow of death to pass each MBBS.
Most  students from other courses finish before you and come on Facebook to say that they are graduates
For you, final MBBS will not give you such opportunity to open your mouth and say you are a graduate when the result is not yet out...(mk your lecturers wey dey fr facebuk catch you) unless you are speaking in faith
On the eve of the D-day: hearts are heavy ,peeps are crying and praying to God(Baba God ,if I can only get 50 and above),peeps are restless, looking for where to find solace...some run home (just in case) but come back the next day just to jubilate
the preparation in even getting 50 is like that involved in making first class in some courses
The nature of the exam is to ONLY bring out saviors NOT murderers as our lecturers do say...well I truly understand cause a mistake can cost a patient his life
Things like negative marking ,best options even when two option are looking true, true and false, taking focused history ,eliciting signs within the shortest time barely 3mins,
Its not just about the knowledge but the speed and the accuracy (to test your ability for emergency cases)
If as a medical student you don't have  story to tell, you actually didn't go to college of medicine.

The funny thing is ...it doesn't end in being a graduate cause there are exams to write for each level you get to as a doctor ,in which you must pass.
And our lecturers will say and I quote: AT UNDERGRADUATE LEVEL,WE WANT YOU TO PASS ,AT POSTGRADUATE LEVEL YOU HAVE TO PROVE TO US THAT YOU DESERVE A PASS
Well if at undergraduate , things are like this  # no comment#

As the going gets tough, the tough gets going and thats what this course is all about...getting you tough and getting you ready for the task ahead...
We will make it in the end ...
015 class ,victory lies ahead.
